Big Timber Cattle Company started in 2000 in Lithia, Florida with registered Black Angus cattle purchased from the late Aaron Long of Long's Angus Ranch. The company quickly implemented the use of modern techniques such as Artificial Insemination, Embryo Transfer, EPD evaluation, and DNA testing to pursue some of the most modern, cutting edge carcass genetics available on the market today.
The name, Big Timber, comes from Richie's roots as the owner of Southern Pine Timber Products, a lumber mill specializing in Lumber, Timber, Piling, Poles and custom work.

Cooperators
Big Timber Cattle Company works with multiple commercial operations throughout Florida. Over 400 Purebred Angus Embryos are transferred each year into commercial recipient cows who act as "multipliers" for genetic progress.
